Were you also always wondering about this page 35 in many editions of Asterix the Gaul which is of really low quality??? In fact this page is a bad reproduction of the original one which got lost and was never found again. Later the page was completely redrawn by - at least that is what rumours tell us - Uderzo's brother Marcel.
This is the original drawing. It was published only time - in Pilote no. 28 issued on May 5, 1960.
Later, when the story was planned to be reprinted in one piece page 35 wasn't found any more...
... so it was decided to produce a copy of that page. Due to less sophisticated reproduction techniques at that time the result was what we can see here: very poor quality.
Later, as it is said, Albert's brother Marcel Uderzo redrew the page.
The second version is what can be found in most editions. Only the latest printings usually contain Marcel*'s page.
